Quick Release Coupling Identification
Quick releases come in all shapes and sizes.
Allowing a fast change from one part to another, quick release couplings have found a home in the pressure washing industry, making life quick and simple with no need for tools.
There are plenty of quick release types out there, each with their own size, shape and form.
Here is a guide to identifying which quick release you have.
TEMA Quick Release
Probe outside diameter – 19.9mm
Often referred to as:
- 3/8″ quick release
- ARS220 Couplings
- TSQ Coupling
Characteristics:
- Often housing 3 o-rings
- Most common form of quick release
- Available in nickel plated brass and stainless steel

Characteristics:
- Single sealing o-ring
- Smaller than the TEMA counterpart
- Whirlaways and V-TuF Machines come with these supplied

Characteristics:
- One of the smallest, high pressure quick releases available
- Common to be used on lance ends for nozzles
- Available in brass or stainless steel
